Ronnie Jimeno, Flatbush Bus Operator, Succumbs to Coronavirus
Depot Chair Richard Thorn said that Brother Jimeno was a dedicated family man who always picked hours that would allow him to be home during the day while the children were growing up and in school, including Monday and Tuesday RDOs. He was a “quiet, hard-working, cool easy going guy,” said Thorn. Another member at the Depot underscored that description, saying on Facebook: “My smiling friend that's standing over to the side. . . a smile and a wave every time our buses pass. Ronnie Jimeno, Rest in Peace.”
Brother Jimeno’s sister, Jean, expressed gratitude for everyone’s messages of condolences, saying: “In behalf of my family, our heartfelt thanks to everyone for sending your love and support, in all means possible, through social media, phone calls, personal messages, virtual hugs, and simply listening to us as we expressed the pain we felt for the passing of my beloved brother Ronnie Jimeno. You are all a manifestation of God’s love, a source of comfort in our moments of grief. Most grateful to you are Ronnie’s wife, Julie, the bereaved children, 11-year old daughter, Sarah, and son Brandon, and brothers Henry and Noli.”
